The Real Deal
August 17, 2015
Barley an American Brasserie will open in a new space at Downtown Dadeland, the restaurant announced on Monday.
The Miami-based gastropub will lease about 2,300 square feet. Construction will begin in September with a March 2016 opening date. Continental Real Estate Companies brokered the deal, according to a press release.
Duncan Hillsley Capital is leading the expansion of Downtown Dadeland by more than 127,600 square feet of retail space.
“We’re really excited to see our vision for expansion come into fruition,” Shane Hillsley, managing director of Duncan Hillsley, said in the press release. “Downtown Dadeland has made major progress within the last year and there is more to come.”
Barley’s new location will serve Spanish and New American comfort food, along with a craft beer and cocktail menu. It will also extend its hours to include lunch service. The restaurant is currently at 9059 Southwest 73rd Court, also within Downtown Dadeland. That restaurant is expected to close.
“The restaurants in Wynwood, Brickell and Miami Beach get a lot of recognition as being the best restaurants around,” Jorgie Ramos, Barley chef and owner, said in the release. “But I want people to know that there are other neighborhoods throughout Miami where you can find amazing food. I’m from Kendall, and I want to transform my neighborhood into something that residents all across Miami can be proud of.”
Nearby, Dadeland Mall has announced a number of new retail and restaurants, including American Eagle Outfitters, Lucky Brand Jeans and a multimillion-dollar renovation of the food court. – Katherine Kallergis
